Cabinet proposes 25 pc increment

A Cabinet meeting held this afternoon has decided to propose 25 per cent increment in the annual plan size for 2013-14 from the previous year's plan size.
However, the Planning Commission has already suggested that State Government make a proposal for the State's plan outlay with an increment of only 8 per cent from the previous year's plan size.
Notwithstanding the Planning Commission's suggestion, the Cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi decided to propose a plan size of Rs 4398.43 crores excluding SPA and SCA funds which is 25 per cent larger than the previous year.
Amounts which would be proposed by the State for SPA and SCA would be discussed in another Cabinet meeting.
Notably, plan size for the current fiscal is Rs 3500 crores.
During the next financial year, the State Government would work to bring down deficit in the State's agricultural productivity from the current 20 per cent to 10 per cent.
Moreover, the State Government would focus on raising the potential as well as production of horticulture produces.
Special attention would be given on enhancing fish productivity together with improvising irrigation infrastructure.
Another key area of focus for the Govt during the next financial year is roads and highways.
The Government has also set targets to complete some major projects like Railway Project, Capital Project and mini-secretariats being constructed in district headquarters during the next fiscal.
