Active cases drop to 244 with 19 more testing positive

Imphal, January 20 2021:
Manipur now has only 244 active COVID-19 cases with 19 persons testing positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
There has also been no Covid related deaths in the last 24 hours arresting the death toll at 367 .
The total number of Covid positive cases has reached 28,919 while 28,308 persons have recovered so far from the disease.
The 19 persons who tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours are all civilians and they include 12 males and 7 females.
They tested positive for coronavirus at testing facilities opened at Churachandpur (6), JNIMS (5), Shija Hospital (3), Babina Diagnostics (3) and RIMS (2) .
They hail from Churachandpur (6), Imphal West (5), Kangpokpi (4), Imphal East (2), Kakching (1) and Chandel (1), said a report of the Government COVID-19 Common Control Room issued by Additional Director, Health, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
On the other hand, 10 persons have been discharged after recovery from the disease.
While 8 of them recovered while under home isolation, the remaining (2) were discharged from SHRI and Raj Medicity, said the report.
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases is 28,919 including 25,500 civilians and 3,419 Central security personnel.
The total number of recovered cases is 28,308 including 24,920 civilians and 3,388 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 244 including 217 civilians and 27 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate stands at 97.88 per cent as per the Government report.
On the other hand, the number of samples tested for COVID-19 has crossed five lakhs on Wednesday.
According to the Health Department, a total of 1,248 samples took the total number of samples tested to 5,01,237 .
