Thousands throng Hiyangthang temple on Bor

Thousands of devotees thronged Hiyangthang Lairembi temple on the occasion of Bor today.
Hiyangthang Lairembi Development Seva Committee (HLDSC) made elaborate arrangement for the convenience of the devotees with assistance from State Government authorities, NCC and civil society organisations.
Sandhi Puja of Mera lunar month of Manipuri calendar was offered to Hiyangthang Lairembi from 3.48.28 pm to 4.36.28 pm.
People of different faith of the State believe that their wishes would be fulfilled if they get the chance to attend the Puja, which is commonly known as Bor.
Since early morning, thousands of devotees gathered outside the temple complex waiting for their turn to get inside.
They were allowed to move in on group-wise, which is known as pou in local parlance.
HLDSC Chairman Loitongbam Ibomcha said that the committee has been performing Puja at Hiyangthang temple complex every year since 1970. Police, PHED, Power Department, NCC, Medical Department, civil society organisations and private institutes etc gave much needed co-operation to the committee in order to conduct the Puja in proper manner.
Different pujas are normally performed every year from the first day to 10th day of Manipuri lunar calendar.
