Imphal, September 07, 2010:
The three PLA cadres who laid down arms before IG AR (S) Maj Gen CA Krishnan and DGP Y Joykumar on September 6 were deserters who fled from their camp at 9 am of August 3 this year.
As they failed to report back, due orders were being awaited from party leaders to declare them as deserters, said a press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity chief GM Changjou.
The PLA has nothing to worry just because a few insincere and timid cadres who could not think for the Nation deserted the party and surrendered.
As for the rest of the PLA cadres, which is large, they are standing firm for the cause of the Nation, it claimed.
To the PLA, it was better for the insincere cadres to leave the party rather than stay together with the dedicated cadres as their presence could lower the spirit of genuine revolutionaries.
Contending that Lance corporal Gokul took away one M-22 with magazine and 29 live rounds and Private Ronenson took away one Colt Commando, five magazines, 150 live rounds two bombs and one V-82 RT set while Private Momo fled with one M 22, three magazines, 250 live rounds and two bombs, the outfit the arms and ammunition displayed by Assam Rifles was quite incompatible with the exact number surrendered by the three cadres.
This is a clear evidence of a secret strategy being employed by security forces in counter insurgency operations.
Alleging that the arms and ammunition now concealed would be brought out in fake encounters, the outfit cautioned the people to be on guard.
