K Kipgen, retired IAS and former BSF DIG EN Rammohon who have been appointed as Advisors to Governor Ved Marwah will arrive and assume office on June 7, according to a highly placed source in the State Secretariat.
The source said that the name of the four Divisional Commissioner to be appointed from the rank of Commissioners in the Civil Secretariat would be shortlisted very shortly.
Each division may cover two or three neighbouring districts of the State, it said adding the division would be made directionwise.
Whether the Divisional Commissioner would sit in the district headquarters or at the State Secretariat has not been decided, it further said.
The decision to divide the State into four divisions and to appoint Divisional Commissioners was announced by Governor Ved Marwah during a meeting of heads of the civil administration convened by him at the conference hall of the State Secretariat yesterday.
The source also informed that the two Advisors will be in charge of all the Government departments.
All the Deputy Commissioners will have a direct link with the Divisional Commissioners and Secretariat officials.
The Divisional Commissioners will be answerable to the Advisors, the source said and added that the advisors will consult with the Governor and officials concerned on every important issue.
