Vax advocacy prog, webinar on cyber safety held

Noney, July 23 2021:
State Health Society, Noney district administration and District Health Society jointly organised a district level Covid-19 vaccination advocacy and consultative meeting for village authority leaders at Longmai Bazar community hall at Noney district headquarters on Friday.
The advocacy programme was attended by DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, State Immunisation Officer Dr T Manihar Singh, Family Welfare deputy director Dr Dineshwor Singh, Covid Community Engagement Team, Medical Directorate in-charge Dr Jubilee Wa-hengbam, Noney CMO Dr Edwin Golmei and DIO Dr Jendum Golmei as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, DC Robert said that there is no future if the pandemic cannot be tackled effectively at the earliest possible.
Highlighting the benefits of vaccination, he also urged the people not to believe in rumours that are being spread on social media without scientific proof and called upon the village authority leaders to be more pro-active in their locality so as to defeat the pandemic.
On the other-hand, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Tamenglong organised a webinar on the topic 'How to safely use social media by identifying the various dangers of cyber bulling, online sexual harassment, etc.,' on Friday.
The webinar held as a part of Cyber Safety Campaign was attended by Imphal West District & Sessions Judge cum DLSA, Tamenglong chairman Aribam Gunesh-war Sharma, DLSA secretary K Nirojit, Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and Youth of Tamenglong and Noney districts while CJM Churachandpur Janggoulen Haokip was the resource person.
