Water supply to be affected

With fall in the water level of Singda Dam, the treatment plants at Kangchup and Singda are running short of capacity production.
To manage the crisis, PHE Department has been compelled to make changes in the two supply systems, namely, Kangchup Extension Plant, which feeds the zonal reservoirs of Nepra Menjor, Irom Pukhri, Sangaiprou and Chingtham Leikai and Singda Plant, which feeds the zonal reservoirs at Lalambung, Cheiraoching and the old Manipur Legislative Assembly complex, according to a notice issued by Executive Engineer of Water Supply Maintenance Division-I, PHE Department.
As a consequence, the supply of water to the areas covered by the said zonal reservoirs as well as Khagempalli, Kwakeithel area, Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai and surroundings; Tera areas including Sayang Road areas in addition would be affected, the notice said, and appealed to the consumers to bear with the department and use water economically during such lean period.
