Tests dip, TPR spikes to 15 pc, 8 deaths reported

The state on Monday saw sharp drop in the number of daily tests conducted as only 2272 samples were processed out of which 353 positive cases of Covid-19 cropped up leading to spike in the test positivity rate at 15.54 per cent.
The last 24-hour also had eight death cases (4 males & 4 females) with Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Senapati and Kakching districts accounting for one casualty each while three Bishnupur denizens succumbed to the infectious disease.
Five of the patients died at RIMS and one each at JNIMS, Raj Medicity and CCC Loukoipat.
Two of the deceased were below 60 years of age and two did not have any co-morbid conditions.
One died within 24 hours of reaching the hospital.
The cumulative number of deaths in the state has reached 1055.With the addition of 353 new cases and 660 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the active caseload of the state is 9298 out of which 2632 are in home isolation.

There are 702 patients at different hospitals and CHICs out of which 316 patients including 34 on oxygen support and 38 patients on ventilator support.
The figure, however, does not include data from JNIMS, I-land Hospital and Jivan Hospital Kakching.
On the other hand, CCCs have 897 patients as on Sunday 9.30 pm.
Out of them, 66 patients are on oxygen support.
However, it does not include data CCC Keirao.
According to official reports, all the 353 new cases (160 males & 193 females) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (8), JNIMS (12), District Hospitals (152) and other testing centres (181) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (88), Imphal West (98), Thoubal (32), Bishnupur (55), Kakching (45), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (13), Chandel (2), Tamenglong (10) and Noney (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 660 persons discharged in the last 24 hours include 343 from home isolation, 16 from RIMS, 8 from JNIMS, 93 from CCCs and 200 from CHICs.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 64,418 (general population - 60,616 and CAPF personnel - 3,802).Number of recovered cases is 54,065 (general population - 50,304 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) and number of active cases is 9,298 (general population - 9,262 and CAPF personnel - 36).The recovery rate stands at 83.92 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1882 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 287 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 460D and 114B filled cylinders while medical oxygen stock position in the district or sub-division is Bishnupur (110D, 9B), Chandel (34D,9B), Churachandpur (96D,0B), Senapati (48D,0B), Thoubal (72D,33B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (8D,7B), Jiribam (33D,12B), Moreh (21D,8B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (8D,18B), Noney (2D,0B), Pherzawl (6D,2B) and CCCs 213D,59B.As on Sunday, 4,94,104 individuals have been vaccinated against the infectious disease.
Meanwhile, 49 new positive cases have been detected out of 198 samples tested on Monday in Kakching district.
Three of them were detected at Ema Hospital, 12 at Jivan Hospital and 34 at government RAT Centre.
One is from Chandel, one from Imphal West and two from Thoubal district while the rest are residents of Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (22,685), Imphal East (14,552), Thoubal (5212), Churachandpur (5013), Kangpokpi (1638), Tamenglong (2064), Bishnupur (3893), Senapati (1362), Ukhrul (1365), Kakching (3086), Chandel (1088), Noney (551), Tengnoupal (667), Jiribam (709), Kamjong (431) and Pherzawl (102).Fatalities counts in different districts are Imphal West (388), Imphal East (277), Thoubal (99), Churachandpur (83), Kangpokpi (26), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (72), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (56), Chandel (14), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 20,760 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,515 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,76,966 tests per million population against the national average of 2,81,675 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.64 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2272 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 15.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.50 per cent.
