Moirang, May 13 2020:
Ex-MLA of Moirang Assembly Constituency M Prithviraj Singh has said that frequent changes/modification in the content of order by the Government pertaining to check COVID-19 transmission in the State has confused the general public.
Notably, the ex-MLA, who is also the general secretary of MPCC (Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee) donated medical equipment including oxygen cylinders and masks to Community Health Centre Moirang, today.
Continuing that these frequent changes or modification of Government instruction have puzzled the public, especially those returning from other States, M Prithviraj suggested the State Government to thoroughly discuss the subject matter of the order before announcing it publicly.
Appealing to the State Government to take up all possible means to make the inmates in quarantine facilities maintain physical distancing and to effectively identify and separate the new inmates from old ones, he added that one wrong move on the part of the Government could lead to an abrupt outbreak of this dreaded disease in the State.
Urging the State Government to lobby the Centre to provide medical kits for bulk testing of COVID-19 in the State, the ex-MLA further appealed to the State Government to consider his opinion as constructive feedback to chalk out the best strategy for combating the pandemic and not as a political rival.
The medical equipment that were distributed to CHC, Moirang are one oxygen cylinder, 4 oxygen masks, face masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants and edible items.
Moirang Block Congress Committee also distributed edibles and protective gears to police personnel deployed at Moirang PS, INA VDF Outpost, Phubala VDF Outpost, Toronglaobi VDF Outpost and staff of Kwakta PHC.
