Imphal, May 13 2020:
With regard to the construction of road from L026-T01 to Rovakot (16 Kms) under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadhak Yojana (PMGS), Rovakawt Village Authority has made certain demands to the High Court of Manipur, Minister and departments concerned.
A press release issued by Rovakawt Village Authority asked the Chief Engineer, Rural Road Engineer Department/MSRRDA to put favour into this matter and resume the development work at the earliest.
It also asked the High Court of Manipur to help resolve the case as soon as possible and to make decisions so the assigned Contractor can continue this work as a public interest.
Taking concern and knowledge of the hardship being faced by the Rovakawt villagers, the village authority requested the Minister concerned to resolve this matter at the earliest.
The VA claimed that the assigned Contractors started the developmental work in March, April 2019, however, the workers left the work unattended for over a year.
Rovakawt Village is a village enclosed within Tipaimukh Sub-Division of Pherzawl district and has no servicing of vehicles and also as the roads are not being attended to, there are no favourable methods of bringing in daily essentials and other produces into the village, it added.
