Solitary protestor picked up by police

Imphal, September 09 2013:
An employee of Manipur Pollution Control Board who all alone staged a sit-in-protest in front of the Board office at Lamphelpat demanding payment of due salaries for 6 months was arrested by Lamphel police today.
The employee of Manipur Pollution Control Board who staged protest and later arrested by the police has been identified as T Netrajit.
He is a sample collector in Manipur Pollution Control Board.

Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao before the arrest, T Netrajit informed that salary has not been paid to the staffs of Manipur Pollution Control Board for the last six months.
Various complaints have also been made to Minister Th Devendra, who is also Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board, but no steps have been taken up till today for clearance of the pending salary.
So he decided to stage a sit-in protest.
Netrajit commenced her protest demonstration from 9:30 am.
But a team of Lamphel police personel came at around 1:30 pm and he was picked up and taken to the police station.
However, the lone protestor was released at around 4:30 pm.
