CPI espouses Irabot's ideology

CPI Manipur State Council Secretary Moirangthem Nara has stated that the people of Manipur need to follow the footsteps of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot in order to protect and promote the integrity of Manipur and its pluralistic character.
He was speaking the 68th Manipurgi Apunbagi Shaktam Kankhiba Numit which was held today at the Lamlai Irabot Park.
He said that the present generation ought not forget the sacrifices made by Irabot in order to protect the integrity of Manipur and bring about a progressive society.
Dr Nara appealed to the people to elect representatives who understand the impulse of the masses.
Irabot Celebration Committee secretary Laishram Sotinkumar asserted that people can certainly bring about a revolutionary change in Manipur if the masses are sincere enough to follow the footsteps of Lamyanba Irabot.
He then called upon the masses to collectively pursue Irabot's dream for a united and progressive Manipur.
As in the previous years, a large number of people gathered at Yourabung Primary School and they marched up to Pungdongbam Event memorial site.
Then they gathered at the Lamlai Irabot Park, Challou where they paid floral tributes to Lamyanba Irabot.
Many CPI leaders including Moirangthem Ibohal, L Thoiren, L Iboyaima, A Lala, Kh Surchand, H Bimol, Th Nabakumar, Ph Sanajit, Ph Bhadrapati.
Ph Gokulchand and Cultural University consultant Chana Lukhoi were also present at the commemorative function.
The gathering also paid floral tributes to the statue of late Minister Pheiroijam Parijat.
