A gathering of Naga People's Front (NPF)
sympathizers met for an interactive session on July 9 at Nagaland
House, New Delhi.
According to a statement, the programme was chaired by
Kahorngam Zimik, Advocate, and was attended by student
leaders, scholars, social activists and employees hailing from
Ukhrul district.
While informal in nature the purpose of the
meeting was pronounced as to engage in preliminary scrutiny
of the electoral environment in the State in the context of the
upcoming election on the basis of open discussion among
participants.
The persons present deliberated and analysed the
present political scenario in Manipur with special reference to
the Naga political perspectives vis-�- vis the Naga people's
Front (NPF) .
After extensive deliberations considering all
inputs including thorough comparison with other existing
political party alternatives in Manipur, NPF was lauded for its
stance in the interest of hill people in the State and deemed as
the most viable option to be supported in the interests of the
Nagas in particular and hill people in general.
The sitting also
expressed happiness that Leishiyo Keishing has expressed
intention to contest the upcoming Manipur Assembly election.
