Youth responsible for preserving culture, traditions: Jayantakumar

Claiming that culture is the way of life in Manipur which in turn makes Manipuris the epitome of admiration in the global arena, Art and Culture Minister L Jayantakumar urged the youth in the State to protect and preserve their culture and traditions inherited from the forefathers.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the closing function of "Residential workshop for teaching of music to school children (Phase � II) for the support of musical instrument and teaching music to school children", under NEC, Ministry of DONER, GoI, held today at Maharaja Chandrakirti Auditorium, Palace Compound, Imphal.
The Minister went on to state that it is the responsibility of the youngsters safeguard the culture and traditions and preserve them.
The residential workshop has been organizing since many years in the State but the event seems to be more effective this year as children from various communities participated this time, he added.
Many cultural troupes and music contingents performed at the function presided by Art and Culture Director A Shivdas Sharma.
