A one day orientation programme on 'The Importance of Pre-Primary Education in Manipur' was held at Pre-Primary Education and Nursery Rhyme Teachers' Training Centre, Kalyan Bhawan Kwakeithel today at 10.30 pm.
Education Minister L Jayantakumar who attended the function as the chief guest stressed on the need for moral education and its values.
The Minister also noted with regret the present moral conduct of some students.
Addressing the gathering social activist, Amrik Singh Pahwa who attended the function as the president said that punctuality is a must for building the character of students and urged the trainees to work sincerely and diligently as their profession demands.
Pahwa also drew the attention of the Education Minister on the need for the Government to extend co-operation to the Centre.
Th Memcha Devi, Principal of the institution and Th Jotin Singh from DIET were the resource persons.
