Imphal, July 10: In connection with the abduction/missing of Angom Langamba alias Abungo alias Bungo (11), a student of Paree Imom Sindam Sang and his friend Yengkhom Naobi (13), a student of St Peter School from Iroisemba Lourembam Leikai by unidentified persons on July 6, a JAC has been formed yesterday.

Christened as the JAC Against Child Trafficking of Angom Langamba and Yengkhom Naobi, the chairman of the JAC Sougaijam Ongbi Ibemnungshi has appealed for the safe release of the innocent children while talking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club here today.

Expressing apprehension on the likely condition of the two children since their abduction on July 6, the chairman urged the unknown abductors to atleast inform the family members or the JAC whether the children are still alive or not.

Angom Ongbi Rita Devi, mother of Angom Langamba, who was also present at the occasion, informed that father of her child had passed away while Langamba was around 2 years old and she had brought him up single-handedly with great difficulty.

Langamba is her only child, Rita said.

She further disclosed that one day after the abduction, she received a call on the mobile phone from a caller identified himself as member of PREPAK (GS) group.

When she was allowed to talk with her son she asked him where he was to which her son gave an inconsistent reply sometime saying that he is on a lake and at another time he on a high hill stop.

His son also told her not to come when she said that she would be coming to pick him up, Rita said.

Yengkhom Ongbi Ibeyaima, mother of Yengkhom Naobi said her son was the youngest of her six sons and when she had conversation with him, her son told her that he is in Keibul Lamjao.

When she asked her son to come home, he replied he wants to go but did not allow.

Demanding to know why the two kids have been abducted, Ibeyaima asked whether it is to remove their kidney, eye or forcing them to take up arms.

'My son is too young to take up arms', Ibeyaima said, while appealing to all the people to help in bringing back her son.

JAC advisor Sorojini urged for immediate and safe release of the two kids on humanitarian ground.
