Imphal, May 04 2011:
The Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) today warned of stern action against the functionaries of Tangkhul Co-ordination Committee (TCC), behind the calling of a 24-hour Ukhrul district bandh tomorrow, May 5, over the Autonomous District Council (ADC) issue, alleging that leaders of the committee is "sowing the satanic hatred and enmity among the Tangkhuls in the name of TCC" .
The MNRF, in a statement signed by its assistant publicity and information wing secretary Leishipam said that the satanic hatred and enmity sown by Jonathan Kashung, the so called convener of the TCC and his colleagues is known to all Tangkhuls for their real nature.
"Tangkhuls are well aware of Jonathan Kashung and some of his colleagues in the TCC of having been fishing and hunting for various schemes in the office compound of the Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul in connivance with the DC and his staff or by threatening them in the name of their self styled peoples grievances forum, 'Vigilance Forum' and in the name of some armed groups, depriving the rights and shares of the needy persons and the place where programmes and schemes are to be implemented for the last 10 years or more," the statement alleged.
Because of their actions no programme could be implemented successfully in any department.
As a result Tangkhuls seeking for developmental works in Ukhrul district have become allergic to Jonathan Kashung and his kind.
TCC in its statement calling a Ukhrul bandh had stated that all Tangkhul Nagas strongly opposed the creation of a DRDA executive director as it comes under the ADC and demanded that all developmental programmes/schemes in the district should be implemented only through the DC.
The MNRF said, the above statement of Jonathan has proved that he and his party has been deprived of schemes, contract works and programmes under the ADC.
The post of executive director of DRDA was created by the state government under the guidelines of the Centre and Jonathan has no right to speak on the issue since the UNC and TCC had already severed all ties with the state government.
"You are therefore, informed to withdraw all gimmicks and dirty programmes which is against the interests of the Tangkhuls or stern action will be taken up by our organisation," the MNRF cautioned.
