Sambit discusses road projects in state with Gadkari

BJP national spokesperson and Manipur incharge Sambit Patra talked with union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari over the ongoing and new road projects in Manipur.
Sambit called on the union minister on Tuesday afternoon and discussed the progress of road projects being taken up in the state and strategies for their timely completion.
He also discussed the proposal for new projects submitted by chief minister N Biren and also other projects which have already been approved by the Centre.
Sources said that the two BJP leaders minutely discussed the road projects and possible assistance that could be extended from the Centre for timely completion.
Mention may be made here that union minister Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to inaugurate the Makru Bridge on NH 37 on July 8.Earlier, the bridge was planned for inauguration on July 2 but deferred to July 8 due to hectic schedules of the union minister.
On the other-hand, the semi-virtual executive meet of BJP Manipur Pradesh, which will begin from Wednesday, will be attended by national leaders of the party including Sambit Patra and northeast in-charge Ajay Jamwal.
Other national leaders of the party are also preparing to visit the state to discuss poll strategy for the forthcoming state assembly election, which is due early next year.
Preparations have been made for hosting the meeting at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal where some of the party's state leaders will attend the meeting physically.
Others will join the meet virtually through video conferencing.
Sambit Patra and Ajay Jamwal will physically attend the meeting and the duo will arrive in Imphal on Wednesday morning.
The meeting will discuss the forthcoming state assembly election with the objective to retain power and come back stronger in the state assembly election with more seats.
BJP general secretary BL Santosh is also coming to the state from July 1 onwards and other national leaders of the party have also lined up to visit the state and discuss poll strategies.
BL Santosh would be holding meetings with party's organisational leaders, BJP legislators, office bearers and other functionaries during his stay.
He will also collect reports on various projects being taken up by the government in the state.
