Assn reminds Government to mini terms and conditions of surrenderees

All Manipur Hills & Valley Individual Surrender Welfare association has appealed the State Government to fulfil the aid it had promised to each surrenderee.
Speaking to media persons, spokesperson of the association, Abdul Latif said that the assurance of the State Government to fulfil certain terms and conditions for each and every surrenderee at the time of surrender have not been fulfilled properly.
He stated that, according to the terms, the State Government had promised to provide monthly payment, deposit 5 lakh in the bank as fixed deposit and a suitable job.
Unfortunately, only a few surrenderees are receiving some of the benefits that also on irregular basis.
Appealing the State Government to render the benefits to other surrenderees as well, he further appealed the State Govt to reimburse the amount for the arms which was surrendered to the Govt and to fulfil its promises.
He went on to state that surrenderees, despite being vulnerable while seeking job like any ordinary person or going outside in the night or to far places, are facing immense grievances when it comes to maintaining their family, educating their children etc.
Lamenting that the State Government should not neglect the welfare of the surrenderees, he stated that a memorandum will be submitted to the Government later in the day.
Altogether there are 85 surrenderees, who surrendered to the State Government during 2010 to 2012, in the association, he added.
