Mega blood donation camp for cancer patients, people with kidney failure to be held

Helping Hands for People (HHP) Manipur will be organising a mega blood donation camp for cancer and kidney failure patients at two locations.
Speaking to a team of media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Helping Hands for People Manipur president Khoirom Loyalakpa conveyed that the mega blood donation camp will be held at RIMS Lamphel and Shija Hospital on October 27.He stated that at least 211 individuals have turned up to enrol for donation and added that the organisation is aiming to reach the maximum number of blood unit to be stored at both the banks.
Loyalakpa appealed to the public, especially the youth, to be a part of something greater and help save thousands of lives.
He further informed that HHP Manipur has been organising blood donation camps at different hospitals in the State, apart from extending possible assistance in the interest df the public.
Patients suffering from cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy and patients whose kidneys have failed, sometimes, require more than 20 units of blood, he informed.
They face grave danger when there are no suitable donors among the family members, HHP Manipur will be conducting the camp considering the grievances of the people, Loyalakpa said.
HHP Manipur secretary Premjit Moirangthem was also present in the press meet.
