'Adherence to Covid SOPs and protocol, only way to redress COVID-19'

The alarming situation of COVID-19 pandemic will see a downward trend once the general public comprehends the intensity of the situation and strictly adhere to COVID SOPs and guidelines just for 10 days.
The above statement was made by Karam Shyam, MLA of Langthabal AC today while speaking on the sidelines of organising a feast for inmates of Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) opened at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School at Canchipur on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
He opined that one get infected with COVID-19 due to one's recklessness and to curb the further spread of the virus, the Government has imposed restrictions and curfew for the same.
However on the contrary, it has been found that people still gather in various localities in the name of playing ludo, cards, housie and at time organises feasts etc which is really unfortunate that clearly reflects the casual approach towards this dreaded COVID-19 pandemic, he added.
Therefore he urged all to strictly follow Covid SOPs and protocol to stay protected from COVID-19 .
Highlighting about the Covid status of Langthabal AC, he stated that 53 residents have succumbed to COVID-19 out of 1560 Covid positive cases in the AC.
He continued that around 367 individuals have stayed in CHIC ever since the outbreak of the Second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and the volunteers have been serving the inmates of the CHIC selflessly.
A sum of Rs 1.67 crore has been invested in Langthabal AC to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic ever since the outbreak of the first wave till date, out of which Rs 1 crore is from LADF and the remaining amount from the contributions and donations rendered by the people and well wishers, he added.
He also mentioned that Covid relief items have been distributed to 1671 containment zones and to 12,000 households of Langthabal AC .
