MIF aims to educate and inform public

Manipur Information Forum (MIF), a non-political, nonprofit and non-Governmental organisation has been formed at Keishamthong, Top Leirak Machin, Imphal West by a group of renowned social activists, research scholars, intellectuals, lawyers, academicians and student activists of Manipur working in close co-ordination with the CSOs in Manipur.
The underlying mission of the forum is to keep the citizens well informed on all relevant facts/issues of policies and decisions formulated by the public authorities and to make them understand the working of democracy in the real sense.
It further informed that another driven objective of MIF is to make the society aware of various mandatory rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records to be used by the public authorities concerned in the discharge of its functions.
MIF stated that failures of public authorities have dramatically increased as politics has become the enemy of good public policy which undermined the public administration.
It intends to study various programmes and policies of the Governmental systems which endanger the indigenous people of Manipur in terms of it land, forest, environment, natural resources, human rights, culture, economy, polity etc.
Citing some of its objectives, MIF intends to lend efforts in transforming society for empowerment, equality, justice and liberty, educate the masses about the purpose and scope of RTI, hold seminar, workshop, conference etc.
at regular interval both in the hills and the valley among others.
