Imphal, June 24:
The All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation has urged upon the authority concern to withdraw the office memorandum issued by Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department P Saratchandra on June 17 which disallows admission of students scoring less than 45 percent in their previous classes in both Government and aided colleges.
Speaking to reporters this afternoon, working president of the organisation N Chaoba alleged that the office memorandum which disallows admission of students scoring less than 45 percent marks in 10+12 exam in colleges is aimed at nipping the academic interest of students and spoiling their career.
Moreover, denying students admission in colleges for scoring less marks would be only aggravating the twin problem of insurgency and HIV/AIDS which are already major issue in the State, he cautioned.
He further demanded immediate annulment of the office memorandum.
