Many more have condemned the gang rape of 2 teenage girls on April 14 and demanded swift action so as to deliver justice to the victims, reports our correspondent.
Kuki Women's Union, Sadar Hills today strongly condemned the incident and stated that such act has considerably risen in the State.
Stating that women are no longer safe in public places, Kuki Women Union, Sadar Hills said that collective effort is required to check crimes against women and children.
"Justice should be delivered to the victims and the families by ensuring the all the involved culprits are befittingly punished", KWU, Sadar Hills said.
It further stated that ending violence against women and girls is a fundamental goal of the United Nations and the UN system in India and stands united with people across the country to do what it takes to ensure that every woman and every girl can live safely and with dignity.
KWU Sadar Hills has also asked the BJP led coalition Government to strengthen implementation of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012 and appealed for setting up of special Courts and child friendly procedures for victims under 18 years of age.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi Women's Welfare organization has also strongly protest the incident and demanded speedy action against the culprits.
