Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, April 21 2017:
A huge quantity of tobacco product worth at least a few lakhs were seized and destroyed by volunteers of DESAM and the local womenfolk of Nagamapal last night.
The incident happened last night when the DESAM volunteers came across workers unloading the tobacco products at Nagamapal above the Naga river.
When the volunteers enquired about the owner, they found out that it belonged to a non local dealer staying at Thangal Bazar.
The volunteers and angry locals checked the godown and rooms of the dealer and found huge quantities of tobacco product which were later brought and burned near the Naga river, Nagamapal last night itself.
