Workshop for panel lawyers, para legal volunteers held

A one day 'Workshop for panel lawyers and para legal volunteers' was organized at the Conference Hall, ADR Building, Lamphelpat today, said a statement of MASLSA.
The programme was jointly organized by Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur and FXB India Suraksha.
The workshop aimed at highlighting and creating awareness on how to provide assistance to vulnerable adolescents, children & victims of trafficking of children and girls for sexual exploitation, it added.
Sorokhaibam Sadananda, Deputy Member Secretary, MASLSA moderated the technical session where he highlighted the various activities undertaken by MASLSA.
During the programme, Sandhyarani Mangsatabam, Programme Officer, Social Welfare Department delivered a lecture on 'Child Protection System in Manipur: Issues and Challenges'; Sunil Meitei, Project Officer FXB India Suraksha on 'Phenomenon of Human Trafficking' and Ch Momon Singh, Advocate and Member, MASLSA on 'Protection of Children: A Legal Aid perspective' .
A total of 40 participants which includes remand lawyers, panel lawyers and para legal volunteers took part in the programme, it added.
The programme was also streamed live on the official Facebook pages of Manipur State Legal Services Authority and KhutSem for wider outreach and coverage.
