AMBADA's bandh effected

Endorsing the demand of All Manipur Border Area Development Association (AMBADA) regarding the Border Area Development Programme (BADP), AMBADA, Tengnoupal district also took part in the 48 hours bandh called by AMBADA, from August 30 midnight till September 1 .
Supporting the bandh, AMBADA Tengnoupal blocked the roads at Chikim village on NH 102 (Imphal-Moreh road) .
Speaking to media persons, secretary of AMBADA Tengnoupal stated that instead of sanctioning the development funds (under BADP) to the people, the Government has issued a tender notice for the work which resulted in the imposition of the bandh.
The State Government should take the matter seriously and bring an amicable solution at the earliest, he stated and added that the association would take up stringent agitation if the matter is continuously neglected .
Bandh supporters also blocked roads at Moreh town and Molnoi area of Tengnoupal district and vehicles as well as passers-by were asked to return back .
The 48 hour bandh which was called yesterday largely affected those who are engaged in daily trade and business especially along the Imphal-Moreh road .
Later in the evening, a joint team of Kakching and Tengnoupal district police under the supervision of Tengnoupal SP successfully dispersed the band supporters and protesters without any argument.
