Bandh paralyses normal life in CCpur

Normal life in Manipur's south district of Churachandpur remained affected on account of the 11-hour total bandh called jointly by Zomi Students Federation, Churachandpur District Student Association, and Kuki Students' Organisation in protest against the bomb attack carried out by Kuki National liberation Front (KNLF) at the residence of ED/DRDA Churachandpur C.Hangshing in the evening of August 25 leaving two persons including a one and a half year old kid injured.
During the course of the bandh, a large number of bandh supporters were seen burning tyres along various points of Teddim road to prevent vehicular movements.
Nearly 100 bandh supporters were taken into custody by the police at Kangvai and Tuibong villages to prevent any untoward incident.
Schools, Colleges and other educational institutions, commercial and business establishments, financial institutions also remained shut even as attendance in government offices was reported to be nil.
Meanwhile, Mizo Peoples' Convention, Young Paite Association, Lamka Block and District Congress Committee have strongly condemned the bomb attack.
