Man hacked to death inside restaurant

Imphal, August 28 2012:
A 38-year old married man was reportedly hacked to death by an unknown person inside a restaurant at Changangei Uchekkon while he was sitting with another married woman.
The woman with whom the victim was meeting inside the restaurant fainted and rushed to JNIMS hospital after she witnessed the crime.
The incident occurred inside Usha Cafe cum restaurant located along Tiddim Road at Changangei Uchekkon at around 11.30 am today.
The victim identified as Thokchom Ibochouba s/o Th Gambhir of Govindagram Awang Leikai was said to be mason by profession and was married to one Indira of Malom.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters and one son.
The woman with whom the victim was found inside the restaurant has been identidied as Salam Ongbi Reena (28) of Singjamei Chingamakha Ningthoujam Leikai and she is the wife of one Salam Pradeep of Laphupat Tera.
However, she is presently staying with her family in a rented house at Khagempalli.
She has one son and one daughter.
According to information received by Hueiyen Lanpao, Reena eloped with Ibochouba about seven months back but got separated following intervention by family elders.
Since then, she has been living with her husband Pradeep.
While Reena and Ibochouba were sitting inside the restaurant today, an unknown person entered and attacked Ibochouba with a sword on his head and stabbed him.
Seeing the scene, Reena fainted even as the attacker left Ibochouba lying injured in a pool of blood.
Both Reena and Ibochouba were rushed to JNIMS hospital.
But Ibochouba succumbed to the injuries.
Lamphel Police have picked up and deposited the body of Ibochouba at RIMS mortuary and registered an FIR in this connection.
