Imphal, December 14 2016:
Manipur National Development Front (MNDF) senior vice president Bijoy Koijam has said that it would be the right step for all the political parties to discuss measures to solve the various issues plaguing the State instead of hurling abuses at each other in the media.
Speaking to media persons at the party's office at Babupara, Bijoy welcomed the 12 former members of MPCC, JD(U) State Unit and BJP who joined MNDF and pointed out that the party would dedicate itself to working towards bringing development to the State.
He said that it was high time to question the legality of the United Naga Council's economic blockade as it has caused enough hardship to all the communities living in the valley.
Condemning the incident of miscreants shooting at truck drivers, he said that it was really unfortunate that some political parties were trying to create a rift between the hills and the valley.
He urged the Government to think of the hills and valley as one while sanctioning development budget and not to favour one over the other.
"Manipur National Democratic Front (MNDF) maybe a new political party but will abide by the people's demand and will compete in 35 to 40 of the total 60 constituencies in the coming 11th State Assembly election", Bijoy Koijam added.
