Imphal, September 11 2016:
All Andro Youth Clubs Association (AAYCA) has threatened to launch different forms of agitation, with the support from civil society organisations, if the persons involved in the killing of Hijam Irabanta (44) of Andro Leitanpekpham are not arrested within September 20 .
In a statement, Irabanta was a petty businessman and he never returned home after he went to Kamjong in Ukhrul district to buy/collect U-Morok on October 16 last year.
Andro police station communicated with Chassad police station after Irabanta's elder brother lodged a complaint on October 27 last year.
However, Irabanta's whereabouts could not be traced till today, AAYCA said.
Recently, a shocking lead came to light after Irabanta's wife Guneshwori and family members went to Kamjong to trace him.
She came to know from the villagers that Irabanta checked in to Rising Hotel after he reached Kamjong.
However, some NSCN (IM) cadres allegedly took Irabanta away after thrashing him in front of the villagers, AAYCA said.
The association alleged said that Irabanta was killed by the cadres of the outfit on the charge that he came there to peddle drugs.
Saying that Irabanta was not a drug peddler but an innocent trader who used to collect different items for sale, AAYCA said.
It further said that no action has been initiated so far although Guneshwori had complained the matter to the DGP on July 29 last.
Recalling the killings of Kasom Khullen SDO and his subordinate staff, AAYCA questioned what NSCN (IM) had gained from killing innocent Meitei people.
