Students' union fetes students, condemns Government apathy

Ukhrul, June 10 2018:
Students of a Government school in Sinakeithei, which has been functioning under the strict supervision of a students' union and village authority as caretakers due to absence of proper school teachers and authorities, were felicitated on Saturday.
Sinakeithei Katamnao Long/Youth Club SKL/SYC, Ukhrul, felicitated the successful candidates of Sinakeithei Chingshang High School in the recently declared Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Board of secondary Education Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur at Sinakeithei village ground.
Out of a total of 48 students of the school appeared in the HSLC Examination, 31 cleared the examination in first division while 16 students cleared in second division.
9 students of the school cleared the Class XII examination in first division while 4 students cleared in second division.
Ringphayo Ruivati d/o Joshua Ruivah of Sinakeithei Chingshang High School was declared State subject topper in MIL (Roman Script) and she secured 85 out of 100.K Ringphame Zimik s/o Raymond Zimik emerged as the school topper securing 77.16% in the HSLC Examination 2018.It may be noted that the Sinakeithei Chingshang High School has been managing an impeccable 98% pass percentage in the HSLC Examinations for the last 5 years.
During the event the students union and the village authority lamented that despite the achievements, the Government and the concerned department has closed their eyes and ears to the school.
Out of 23 sanctioned posts, there are no teachers in the school as they all have been transferred or retired.
The school is currently running under the supervision of the volunteers elected by the students' union and the village authority, said the village authority appealing the Government and the department concerned to take up necessary actions to improve the school and provide required facilities and infrastructures.
Xavier A Shishak, president of the students' union , retired Headmaster SCHS Ngatangmi Zimik, Lewis Phungshok, chairperson of Shanao Long Khayui Raman, caretaker Principal of SCHS, Katui Ngashanva, Principal of CCMKA, Amardevit, assistant teacher MESS, Reisingpam Angkang, education secretary of the students' union and N Shimray, Pastor MBF attended the event.
Wungsing Ramsan, CEO Ramsan Enterprises attended the event as resource person while Rev Ngamrei Hungyo, Pastor SKBC, administered blessing prayers for the students.
