Meritorious award distribution held at various areas

Following the recent declaration of class X and XII results, felicitation programmes were organised by different organisations/ associations at various areas to encourage the students and acknowledge their performance.
Volunteers of KEDO, who passed the recently declared HSLC examination, conducted by BOSEM, were felicitated today by Lamlong Keithel Phambi Nupi Lup, Khurai Lamlong Keithel Imphal East at Lamlong Higher Secondary School.
Out of the four total volunteers of KEDO, three came in 1st Division while the remaining one in 2nd Div.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest of the programme, Development Committee Lamlong Keithel Advisor Ch Hemchand opined such students, who are working to assist their family while studying at the same time, should be more appreciated and motivated by the State Govt by organising such programme.
KEDO president Soibam pointed out that, volunteers of KEDO work or carry out welfare activities in the daytime and reads at night to progress their academics which is something worth acknowledging for, he added.
Meanwhile, a meritorious award distribution programme for successful HSLC students of Regular English High School was held at the school premises in Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi.
All 156 students of class X of the school, who sat for the HSLC exam conducted by BOSEM, passed the examination.
MC, REHS Chairman L Biren Singh and MC, REHS vice Chairman L Nalini Devi attended the felicitation ceremony as dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion as special invitee, theatre critic Ch Budha opined that awards for other categories like sports, debate, arts, extracurricular activities etc should also be dedicated, apart from the academic awards in order to motivate the students more.
Public Action Committee (PAC) Lairikyengbam Leikai also organised a felicitation ceremony for successful HSLC students at Henzunaha community hall.
Four successful students of HSLC examination conducted by BOSEM, including the topper of Government schools Kakchihgtabam Keke Sharma, nine students of COHSEM, four students of CBSE class X, one student of CBSE class XII as well as international players, who received several awards, were awarded.
Associate Professor DMC Science, Ngairangbam Munindro Singh, PAC president Laishram Shamungou, ex senior account officer, Maisnam Gunindro, social activist, Yumkham Bhupenchandra Ghose and L Bikram attended the event as dignitaries.
On the other hand, North Imphal Development and Sporting Union (NIDSU) Luwangsangbam organised a felicitation programme for successful students of BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE, at Luwangsangbam Khongnangkhong Panthoibi Shanglen.
Chief Minister's wife Nongthombam ongbi Heiyainu, Luwangsangbam GP Pradhan S Angou and NIDSU, Luwangsangbam president Ng Opendro attended as dignitaries.
37 successful students including the 3rd and 10th position holders of COHSEM class XII Science were awarded.
