Thoubal, November 06 2018:
Even as the State Government launched Go To Village and Go To Hills missions aiming to bridge hills-valley and bring uniform development, the noble Go To Village Mission has no meaning at Irong Chesaba, Thoubal, alleged Pradhan of Irong Chesaba Gram Panchayat.
Pradhan Md Islao Rahaman said that the Go To Village has turned into a farce at the village.
"State Government's Khungang Chatse has no meaning here.
It only created crowd," he said.
The Go To Village Mission was held at Irong High Madrassa, Irong Chesaba, Wabagai AC today.
The Pradhan alleged that he was informed about the GTV Mission Saturday night (4.33 pm) through a "WhatsApp message".
He was not even given the list/names of the Departments which opened stalls at the camp site today.
Stating that the authorities concerned should have informed him (Pradhan) the planned conduction of the mission 5/10 days earlier to facilitate proper planning and successful execution of the camp, Md Islao alleged that the GTV Mission today was a 'failure' .
"If they (authorities concerned) had informed me earlier (5/10 days), the GTV would have been a success.
The GTV today was poorly conducted.
People had no idea what departments would be there and lots were not properly informed," he said.
"Going like this, it seems the Government and authorities concerned are only interested in creating crowd.
If they wanted to reach out to the people and give benefits, they would have intimated the informations earlier in time," Md Islao added.
He informed that he had approached Thoubal DC and ADM yesterday regarding the matter.
He alleged that he was told that the DC office will 'solely' look after camp and that 'there is no fund'.
No officials of the departments rather than some grade 4 employees attended the camp, he alleged.
"Since last month, about 145 deserving households had their documents ready for gas connection under Ujjwala.
But due to absence of the department/authorities concerned, we were not able to submit the documents," he said and added the camp today distributed only a few birth certificates, death certificates, domicile, income certificates etc.
State Highway near Irong Chesaba has been in worst of the conditions, but due to absence of the PWD in the camp, many returned "mocking" the GTV camp, he said.
Alleging that the camp was poorly conducted, he said that he and the people would like to know if the DRD A or DC or the Government is at fault.
Asking if GTV camps at other places are conducted the same as in Irong Chesaba, he urged the Government and authorities concerned to conduct future camps with dedication and wholeheartedly.
The GTV Mission camps were also conducted at Kamjong, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Tengnoupal etc.
