Food Security Bill is to make hunger free India: Deputy CM Gaikhangam

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, has said that the National Food Security Bill is an ambitious policy of the Congress-led UPA Government which aims at making India a hunger free and progressive nation.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of a one-day political conference organized by Thangmeiband Block Congress Committee at the residence of General Secretary of MPCC Jyotin Waikhom located at Thangmeiband here today.
Gaikhangam further said that political conferences are being organized at every block with the objective of imparting public awareness about programmes and schemes taken up by Congress Government for the welfare and development of people.

Vice-President of AICC Rahul Gandhi is supervising the political conferences being organized at the levels of BCC, DCC and other units.
Monthly reports of these conferences along with photographs are being submitted to AICC, he noted.
People need to be informed about various flagship programmes and schemes of UPA Government, especially of National Food Security Ordinance which would be enforced within a short time to benefit lakhs of people across the State, Deputy Chief Minister averred.
Top functionaries of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee were also present during the conference.
