Imphal, August 04 2013:
Naga People's Front (NPF) has stated that it is really unfortunate to learn that the Government of Manipur still chooses to sleep over the issue of demand for transfer of Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner by Tangkhul Frontal Organisations, thus, affecting normal lives of the public for quite sometimes now.
In a joint statement, MH Moon, President of NPF - 44 Ukhrul Area and its General Secretary Thanreingam Muivah said that it is questionable on the part of the Government to maintain a stoic silence all these weeks when the people have to face a lot of hardship mainly due to closure of Government offices especially in the district headquarters.
The Government's prolonged silence over the matter would only invite chaos and it will be crystal clear for all to see that Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh led Government is too weak to tackle such a pity job.
"We make a humble appeal to the public not to be led astray by an authority like the present Government of Manipur which has been pre-occupied by ill feeling of sowing seeds of hatred amongst the people.
We must also not try to pave any way howsoever for the inefficient Government to think that we are that ignorant to be easily fooled.
If the public have problem with the DC in question, the authority concerned should transfer the incumbent official without any delay to restore peace and normalcy in the district" the joint statement added.
