AMSGA excoriates RIMS as most corrupt institute in state

Coming out strong against Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), All Manipur Students Guardians Association (AMSGA) excoriated as it has as the most corrupt institution in the state.
Blaming the present Director of RIMS for the current corrupt state of RIMS, N Tomba, Advisor of AMSGA, during a press conference at its office in Palace Compound here today, said that it is because of his inefficiency as a Director that the recently conducted interview for the post of LDC created hue and cry among the general public.
The interview which started from 10am on April 12 ended at 2 am of the following day.
This type of interview had never been conducted anywhere in the world.
There is certainly a hidden agenda behind this, which is very unfortunate, Tomba said.
He pointed out that there were also various other instances where the question papers of the exam for recruitment of doctors and nurses were leaked and failed candidates selected as they are sons and daughters of Ministers and doctors.
Asserting that the Director of RIMS should be held responsible for all such unwanted corruption in RIMS, Tomba reiterated that it is because of his incapacity to hold the post of Director that corruption has risen in the Institute.
He further informed about the recruitment of 500 GNM nurses have been appointed out of 3500 candidates applied for the posts without declaring the marks scored by them.
The actual number of nurses to be recruited was only 75.There is apprehension that the RIMS authorities have collected huge amount of money from these selected candidates, Tomba alleged.
He also charged the incumbent RIMS Director is not fit to occupy the post of Director since he does not have the essential qualifications.
He is not even a regular professor, he added.
