Paddy fields and fish farms submerged

Incessant rains in the state have flooded different parts of the state submerging many paddy fields and fish farms.
The submerged areas include 1000 pari of paddy fields and 2000 fish farms of Mayang Imphal A/C and 2000 pari paddy fields under Kumbi A/C. Media persons who went to have a first hand report of the flood situation witnessed thousands of people affected by floods in Mayang Imphal A/C.The floods have ruined around 5 crores of property in this constituency.
Unfortunately the state government has not given any sort of help to the flood affected victims, lamented the villagers of Mayang Imphal.
The affected villages of this constituency mainly Phoubakchao Yumnam Leirak, Phoubakchao Komlakhong, Chabung Company, Kokchai Awang Leikai, Shamushang Shantipur Makha Leikai, Bengoon Yangbi, Komlakhong Meitei Leikai, Komlakhong Awang Muslim Leikai, Chirai and Konchak Yangbi was personally inspected by aspiring candidate of Mayang Imphal A/C, Kongkham Manglem.
He distributed 7 kg of rice each free of cost to every household.
MLA of Kumbi A/C, N Mangi also visited the flood affected families of his constituency and promised to take up necessary steps to combat the calamity.
He visited areas of Boroyangbi Thongkhong where 200 houses have been flooded.
He also inspected areas of Pombikhok which has been flooded by the breach along the banks of the Manipur river.
MLA Mangi speaking to media persons at the spot said that the concerned authority needs to come up with a master plan to combat the frequent floods occurring in the state.
He further went on to say that the frequent floods occurring in Kumbi A/C is mainly caused by the over flowing of Manipur river and Ithai dam.
An emergency sector control room has been opened to give emergency services to the flood affected victims of Kumbi and Moirang A/C at the LP school at Moirang Mairenbam Leikai.
Around 2500 pari of paddy fields have been submerged by floods in Keirao, Langdum, Khanarok, Chanam Sandrok and Wangkhem said a press statement released by Pradhan of Keirao GP, Asem Hemanta.
