Employees of Treasury Office, Imphal West and Sub-Treasury Office, Imphal, staged a sit-in today at the complex of the Treasury office, in support of demand for implementation of 7th Pay in the State.
Speaking to media persons, Huidrom Dhananjoy, Junior Account Assistant of Imphal West Treasury Office condemned the delaying tactics played by the State Government regarding the implementation of the 7th Pay and asserted that the Government employees are shocked by the prolonged ignorance of the State Government to the demand of the employees.
Reminding that the BJP led Government in Manipur has almost completed 2 years, he lamented that the Government has not considered the matter of implementing the 7th Pay Commission in the State till date even though BJP had promised to implement the same if it came to power and even inserted the assurance in its vision document.
The BJP has deceived the Government employees and people of Manipur only to get votes and win the election as it has not taken up any tangible steps till now, he added.
He also stated that the MoU signed between Manipur Secretariat Service Association (MSSA), Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) and Manipur State Pensioners' Union (MUPU) should be made null and void as It was signed without the consent of the employees and in a secret manner.
