Imphal, June 17 2021:
HHP Tele Health Services which provides free online Doctor consultation to Covid and Non-Covid problems has been helping the people of the State tremendously amid the grim situation of the Second Wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
HHP Tele Health Services is an initiative by Helping Hands for People of Manipur which started on June 1 with an aim to provide some relief to numerous health concerns during this crucial phase.
This particular Tele Health Service is operational from 9 am till 3 pm daily and provides an opportunity to connect and talk directly with qualified and experienced doctors and to consult regarding various ailments, its treatment and medication in Manipuri, Hindi and English languages.
It may be noted that the volunteers of Helping Hands for People of Manipur donated around 730 units of blood to JNIMS, RIMS and Shija Hospitals during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic and helped in solving to some extent the blood shortage crisis.
During this second wave of COVID-19, many hospitals closed their Outpatient Departments (OPD) posing major hindrance to the general public seeking treatments therefore HHP took up the initiative of telehealth service on war footing to help the people of the State.
Initially, only 10 doctors volunteered for the service but now more than 30 doctors have joined the cause to serve the people amid this pandemic.
HHP appealed to all doctors in the State to contribute to the telehealth service to make it more successful since there are no doctors concerned for Orthopaedics, Psychiatry, ENT and no dietician as of now.
More than 400 persons have contacted the HHP Tele Health Services and have treated around 268 persons successfully till date.
In case of emergency and major ailments, the patients have been admitted to hospitals for further treatments.
Many patients from far flung places in the State, including a kidney stone case patient from Chakha Village, around 100 kilometres from Senapati town near Nagaland Border and a patient from Taobam Irang Village in Tamenglong district have recovered after receiving proper consultation from a team of doctors through HHP Tele Health Services.
