Imphal, June 03 2016 :
Reacting to the Government's failure to release all the students in the course of the ongoing pro-ILPS agitation, the College Students' Council Manipur (CSCM) has locked administrative blocks of 13 colleges.
Speaking to media persons at AMSU head-office today, CSCM convenor Dhanachandra Khaidem said that CC Higher Secondary School Students' Union general secretary Bruce Pebam and Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary School Students' Union ex-general secretary Bidyalaxmi Loitongbam have not been released till date.
The CSCM appealed on May 30 to release all the arrested students by June 1 but the two students have not been released till date.
As compelled by the Government's failure to respond to their appeal, CSCM locked administrative blocks of 13 colleges today.
CSCM has also decided to boycott the BA and BCom examinations which are scheduled to begin tomorrow.
If any college authority goes ahead with the examination in defiance of the boycott call, they should be held accountable for any untoward incident resulting thereof.
Saying that they are prepared to launch other forms of agitation, Dhanachandra appealed to all the people to extend full support to the ongoing popular movement for enactment of ILPS or a similar mechanism.
