PMEGP Exhibition kick-started

A ten-day long State Level PM EGP Exhibition and Mela was inaugurated today at Thau Ground, Thangmeiband.
The exhibition is being organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, State Office, Paona Bazar, Imphal, under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Director of Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur V Tualthang underlined that there would be more growth in the handloom and handicraft sector if exhibitions are organised more frequently.
He also dwelt on the need to organise such exhibition in the district level too.
Tualthang also spoke on the need to become consumers of the handloom and handicraft products of the State so that such products are increased.
HP Das, LDM of SBI said, handicraft products of Manipur are appreciated by consumers from outside the State.
In an endeavour to encourage craftsmen for greater production, the SBI has been providing assistance to them.
He encouraged the craftsmen to work hard and produce more.
The function was also attended by Director of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, Baite and Principal of ICM, Dr Kh Somorendro Singh.
