AR constructs water tank

45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles
under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) as part of its Perception Man-
agement programme, under 'Operation Sadbhavana' constructed
a concrete water tank with storage capacity of 15000 litres at
Kameng village in Imphal West district.
The tank was inaugurated and handed over to the villagers
by the Company Commander of Chingmeirong Post on March
16, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
In another endeavour, 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam
Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) presented two
water storage tanks to the people of Namching village on
March 16.
Namching village is located near vicinity of Battalion Head-
quarters, Keithelmanbi under Senapati district.
The project was
inaugurated by the Company Commander of 40 Assam Rifles
in presence of Gaon Buddha, VCP and villagers.
There are
limited provisions for water storage in the village and pres-
ently the village is facing scarcity of water due to lack of
sources of storage of water, said a press release issued by
PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
The water storage tanks were distributed for the welfare of
local populace which will be immensely beneficial to them and
not only solve their long-standing water crisis but will also
facilitate in storage of clean drinking water protected from
water borne diseases.
VCP of Namching village and the local
populace were extremely thankful and expressed their sincere
gratitude for the assistance provided by 40 Assam Rifles for
working towards their upliftment and providing the basic
amenities.
