RK Rajendra to take forward formation of Ecological task force

Taking forward his initiative to form an Ecological Task Force in the state, former member of Manipur Human Rights Commission, RK Rajendra would be meeting the volunteers of Akhil Bharatya Purva Sainik Seva Parishad, Delhi soon.
Speaking to media persons at YVO office, Yaiskul, RK Rajendra said that the volunteers of Akhil Bharatya Purva Sainik Seva Parishad, Delhi visited Manipur to take part in a workshop sometime earlier.
During the said workshop, he had deliberated on the topic "Strategic Importance of Manipur" and highlighted the importance of setting up of an Ecological task force in the state.
He noted that Ecological Task Force has been already set up in other North Eastern states including Assam and a number of trees have been planted.
In Rajasthan also the task force has been set up and trees has been planted in a move to make the place a green state.
As such if the task force is set up in Manipur, forest can be saved from destruction.
The force can further help in prohibiting the destructive jhum cultivation, a practice which has already been banned in other parts of North East.
Rajendra further informed that Akhil Bharatya Purva Sainik Seva Parishad, Delhi, has intimated him to meet their volunteers to discuss formation of the task force.
Accordingly he will be leaving Imphal for Delhi on May 8 .
