Imphal, March 06 2012:
The lone successful candidate of NCP Laishom Ibomcha has boldly stated that since he has been elected by the people, he would sacrifice everything for the people and work for the welfare of the state.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, L Ibomcha assured that all necessary steps would be taken up for removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), 1958 and re-introduction of Inner Line Permit System in the state.
"As a member of the Legislative Assembly, I will take up various issues for the development of the state and the people", Ibomcha pledged.
Ibomcha went on to say that since he has been elected by the people of Keishamthong A/C, his first priority would be to provide sufficient drinking water for the people and take up necessary measures to reduce the problems of electricity in the constituency.
For this, a special project would be started.
"I have been given a chance by the people to serve them, as the former elected representative of the constituency did nothing for the welfare of the people.
So, I will not leave any stone unturned for all round development of the constituency", Ibomcha observed.
Ibomcha said that during his earlier days in the opposition, the then state government had fulfilled at least 15 to 20 percent of his demands.
This time too, he would be in the opposition but would take active part in all the issues of the state.
