Imphal, May 03 2011:
A quarrel over entry into RIMS Chest Ward turned nasty resulting in scuffle between a patient party and RIMS security.
One of the patient party suffered injuries in the scuffle.
The ugly incident happened at about 10 am today when one Leishangthem Bocha alias Khogendra (27) s/o Ito of Nongren Mamang Leikai tried to enter Chest Ward to look after his uncle Tarpon who is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
According to the patient party, Bocha requested the security man on duty for entry into the ward so as to replace his aunt.
As the security personnel steadfastly refused to make way, the two exchanged heated arguments and soon came to blows.
In the next moment, other security personnel rushed in and started raining blows at Bocha.
Bocha had his skull fructured besides suffering bruises on the buttock and back.
He was treated at the same hospital.
However, according to RIMS Medical Superintendent Y Mohen, it was the patient party who first made the physical assault.
As for the fracture in the skull, it might have been caused due to stumbling, he said.
