Imphal, May 03 2011:
A joint team of AMSU, MSF, DESAM and KSA today inspected the ZEO offices of Bishnupur, Thoubal and Imphal East from where they recovered large stocks of SSA text books which have not been distributed.
Speaking to media persons at AMSU head office this afternoon, AMSU HRD secretary Romen Leishangthem, MSF general secretary Anash Shah, DESAM assistant secretary general Arambam Thoithoi and KSA education secretary Surchand Ningthouja said that they recovered large stocks of SSA text books supposed to have been distributed to students.
These text books have been brought to AMSU office.
The way how these text books were stored in the godowns was also not very orderly.
The failure of the Government to distribute the text books even as the academic session is already on indicates that the Government has little concern for education, they asserted.
It seems the Government is more interested in distribution of crop seeds, GI sheets etc from where they can pocket certain percentage for their own.
Demanding that the Government should take up befitting actions against the SSA officials who failed to distribute the text books, they said that the recovered text books would be distributed to students after fixing a date.
