Training programme begins

The inaugural function of 5 Days Training on Life Skills, Leadership and Personality Development was held today at the Court Hall of Manipur University .
The event was graced by Prof Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University, HK Sharma, Regional Director, NSS Guwahati, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Seiminthang Lenthang, State NSS officer, Dr Keisham Shitaljit singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, Manipur University as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively .
In his speech, Prof Adya Prasad Pandey stressed on the need of life skills to sustain in today's competitive world and its importance in development .
He said that we should decide our priorities and stay focussed .
He emphasised that NSS volunteers should empower themselves first and only after that they can help the society .
He expressed hope that the training programme would prove to be a good step to improve the skill, leadership quality and personality development of young volunteers .
He also called on the NSS volunteers to come forward and serve the needy people who are in distress .
They should also play an active part in preventing the people of the State from natural calamities, he added .
The inauguration function was presided over by NSS Coordinators, Dr Shitaljit Singh .
Programme officers of different colleges were also present at the occasion.
