Home vaccination launched, many jabbed in IE, Jiribam

Imphal, July 23 2021:
Under the aegis of Khurai MLA L Susindro, Assembly Segment Covid Awareness & Enforcement Committee, Khurai in collaboration with CMO Imphal East on Friday launched home vaccination drive for the differently-abled and those with mobility issues.
On the first day of the drive, which was inaugurated from Khurai Chingangbam Leikai, around 10 people were vaccinated.
Speaking in this regard, Committee co-ordinator Amba Sanjenbam informed that the drive will be carried out in different areas of the district.
The coordinator then urged local clubs, ASHA workers and COVID Task Forces to contact the committee for carrying out similar drive in their respective localities.
The drive was participated by Chingangbam Leikai GP pradhan L Kananbala, health care workers, staff nurse, and ASHA workers Chingakham Sangeeta and Kh Shantibala of Khurai Sajor Thoidingjam Leikai and Khurai Chingangbam Leikai respectively.
Meanwhile, Khrason Covid-19 Task Force and Ward Member under the aegis of Lamlai Kendra Covid-19 Awareness and Enforcement Committee chairperson A Jamini, Takhel Sanjenbam GP pradhan M Ningthem and Covid-19 Second Wave Fighting Task Force BJP Lamlai Mandal chairman Kh Ibomcha organised a vaccination programme administering second dose of Covid-19 vaccine at Khrason community hall on Friday during which 162 people were jabbed to take the vaccination rate to 80 per cent.
On the other hand, a mass Covid-19 vaccination programme was organised at Kanghuchingjin Khullen Community Hall on Friday wherein 145 people got the jab and were provided with masks, hand sanitisers and monetary aid.
Another vaccination programme was organised at Thayong Primary School for the third time, thereby putting the vaccination rate to 90 per cent.
During the programme, which was monitored by A Jamini and Kh Ibomcha, sanitisers and monetary aid were extended to the local Task Force.
A Jamini and Kh Ibomcha later collaborated with Kangpokpi district administration in organising a vaccination programme for people of Tusenphai and Noimaiband villages at Tusenphai, while a similar programme was organised for people of Ter-akhong and Heikol villages at Terakhong community hall.
In Jiribam district, Jiribam Development Committee (JDO) organised mass vaccination programmes at Dibongkhunou, Babupara and Leingangpokpi under the aegis of the district administration and the health department on Friday.
JDO also distributed refreshment items to medical personnel and Covid Task Forces volunteers working at the vaccination centres.
On the other hand, a mass testing programme was carried out at Takhel, wherein the local Covid-19 Task Force was provided with masks, sanitizer, water and monetary assistance.
