Singsit Organisation celebrates Diamond Jubilee

The Singsit Organisation GHQ has celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on the occasion of their 60th Foundation day on Friday at Monglenphai village in Churachandpur, with members of the clan drawn from all across the State and beyond, organising a massive traditional feast and erecting a Jubilee Stone to commemorate the event.
Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen, MLA Saikot AC and former MPCC President TN Haokip besides SL Paokhosei ex-minister and Rev Th Singson addressed the event The Singsits have spread across the globe and integrated with the various tribes and communities wherever they reside as such the garnering on Friday was a concoction of communities with some identifying themselves when at home as Nagas, some as Kukis and some as Meiteis and others as Zomis.
While Minister Nemcha Kipgen unveiled the commemoration stone, the traditional feast was hosted with two Mithuns, a cow, and about half a dozen pigs said a source.
The Singsits' diamond jubilee was preceded by the Golden Jubilee celebration of their youth wing, the Singsit Youth Organisation (SYO) at the same venue effectively running the celebration as a two day affair.
James T Singson, Additional Commissioner Income Tax unveiled the SYO golden jubilee monolith while Seikai Singsit, Lead Manager UBI and C Singson, Kilonser, Advisor, Collective Leadership released the family traditional laws and customs of the Singsits.
Rev S Thangchinlun dedicated the jubilee souvenir as well as the law book.
